I carry a Nikon D850 as my primary camera and the 200-500 f5.6 as primary lens. I also carry backup gear like my Nikon D3500, my 70-300 lens and my 35 mm f1.8 prime lens. These gears are good enugh to capture distant as well as closeup action. Not to forget the the wide apertures also helps cover low light conditions
